In 1971 a group of responsible PVC pipe producers had the foresight to recognize that the exceptional qualities of performance and value would eventually make gasketed-joint PVC pipe the product of choice for buried water, sewer,drainage and irrigation piping. To properly service the future design and technical information needs associated with such a large scale and growing industry, these leaders combined their resources to create a non-profit technical, educational and research-oriented organization known today as the Uni-Bell PVC Pipe Association.

Florida DOT 2008 Design Standards Modifications

This standard covers 4-in. through 12-in. (100 mm through 300 mm) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pressure pipe and fabricated fittings with cast-iron-pipe-equivalent (CI) outside diameter (OD) dimensions and with wall-thickness-dimension ratios (DRs) 14, 18, and 25.

This Standard covers circulation system components, treatment devices, and related materials. The components, treatment devices, and related materials are intended to be used specifically for swimming pool, spa/hot tub water circulation and treatment in public and residential applications. No attempt has been made to incorporate safety provisions. This Standard is not intended to cover components intended to treat water exceeding a total dissolved solids concentration .
